New York City and other things
This week is the first of many I'll be spending in New York City. My next trip I will be staying over the weekend and so will be able to do some touristy things that will probably end up in posting of pictures. I flew into LaGuardia and the cool thing was seeing the Statue of Liberty standing out there by herself. I did not know the island was so small. It is definitely on my list to take a trip out there when I can. Also, the hospital housing looks to be within walking distance of the Opera house and the south end of Central Park. Don't worry yet Mom, I don't know how much walking I'll do. But if Ray gets to come with me at all I think the two of us could negotiate alot of the things to see without use of cab or subway. Or minimal anyways.
And then other things. It looks like my new home will be ready the day before Thanksgiving. I don't care if everything is in storage and I have to buy it at the store ready made --- I will have Thanksgiving dinner in my new home. I may have to take any leftovers back to my small apartment if my current landlord will answer the phone long enough to give me a reference for it because the refrigerator may not be delivered just yet.
And for the public part that flies: do not bathe in cologne, do not wear your shoes that you wear to work at the shit factory, do bathe, do cover your mouth when you cough, do not expect someone to change seats with you just because you did not plan ahead, and unless you really are royalty leave your need to be worshipped at home. I really don't care about how important you think you are, you're just being an egotistical shit and if I wasn't traveling for work I might even tell you to your face.

Finally they were able to pour the floors. Maybe there'll be a skeleton next week when I get back from Kentucky?

What I saw of Santa Barbara was nice and the airport is quaint. My shadow trip gave me a lot of notes to work with and everyone was great!
Now for the jump to Sacramento and on to Spokane.

Goleta beach and pier
There's a little restaurant and park that we went to for lunch yesterday and today. As you can see, the sky is cloudy. But at least it isn't raining!

Icelandic Pictures
I have finally uploaded the Iceland pictures. It was nice to look at them again as they floated by in Picasa to remember how nice it was and how we'd like to go back and spend more time. The first day we were in Reykyavik at the Hotel Loftleidir. Our room was quite efficient and across the street from the Pearl. The Pearl is warm water containers with a glass dome sitting on top that has a restaurant and a museum. Once we woke up in the afternoon we walked around there and took pictures of the city. The Pearl is surrounded by a nice wooded area with paths and I can see that it's probably great for biking in the summer time. Ray thought it was cool because of the old bunkers and the sculptures outside of the restaurant. After we did that we caught a taxi to downtown to have dinner. On the way we went to the National Museum (free on Wednesdays) and realized we could have spent a lot more time there! On our walkabout we saw a great cemetary that I did not get pictures of... We had dinner at a nice Mexican restaurant that impressed Ray because they knew what 'blue rare' meant.
The whole day we were there we went on a tour that involved seeing the difference between the two continental tectonic plates, Gullfoss (the waterfalls), and the place where geysirs were first seen and named. We also convinced our tour guide to let us see some ponies close up.
The third and last day was spent getting to the Blue Lagoon and realizing (wishing) we could have made a whole holiday just out of it! Oh the feeling of warm water neck high and your feet in warm silicone mud... Ahhhhhhhh.......

Off to Iceland
We have departed early because Ray was anxious and the nice lady moved us to an earlier flight. Now we have 5 hours in Seattle to eat and wait. The excitement builds!
